Maths Challenge A

Try to complete each maths challenge in under 15 minutes.  Off you go.

  1. Martha has £2 and wants to share it equally between herself and four people, how much do they get? Answer in Pence (p)     
 
  2. To make a cake there is a ratio of 8:3 flour and sugar in grams.  If I use 400g of flour, how many grams of sugar should I use?     
 
  3. There is a ratio of 3:2 if 0.6 is one number what could the others be? Put the highest number first. (number space number)     
 
  4. What is the square root of 64?     
 
  5. What is the cube root of 64?     
 
  6. If i=4 and t=5 what is t+(5t-3i)-i?     
 
  7. What is the cube root of 33-6?     
 
  8. If l=the cube root of 27 what is l+98 ?    
 
  9. What is 9 cubed?     
 
10. What is the cube root of 4096?
